Here I am, waiting
waiting for acknowledgement
waiting to be seen
waiting

I am screaming, "I'm here!
I'm here!"
But the response is silence
abandonment

I am yearning to be known
responded to
cared for, supported
yet I sit alone

Does anyone see me
here me crying
reaching out for contact
for connection
